When you're bored, do something.
Don't let boredom turn into procrastination.
I recently moved.
I moved out to the beach in Maryland. Then I moved a little north into Delaware, still on the beach.
Sounds great, huh? Long walks in the sand? Sunrises? Dinner on the boardwalk?
Nope. It’s winter time. An here, it snows. That being said, I haven’t has a whole lot of stuff to do and I’ve really just been hanging out in my apartment with my wife and cat.
My productivity had gone down immensely over the last couple of weeks until today because in my boredom, I turned to the things that we all do in modern times. Namely; the social media death scroll.
Today, I remembered a cool “life hack” someone told me once and I hate the term “life hack” but, this has really helped me break out of my funk over the last couple of days.
If you are thinking about doing something, make an action towards doing it within 5 seconds or else you won’t do it.
Today our attention is being pulled so many different directions that it can be pretty hard to keep up with your daily projects and tasks. I always say consistency in execution is the key to any kind of success, but that’s not always as easy as it sounds and I definitely understand that. You have to practice being mindful of your weaknesses and procrastination habits.
Nothing changes overnight, but with practice and making a mindful effort to start working on things immediately as you think of them, you will begin to see your productivity tick back up.
Stay consistent. Keep executing. You got this!
