Someone will pay you for the stuff you think is easy.
I have a consulting firm. It’s how I’ve made most of my money since the pandemic. I remember when I first started it. I really had a hard time defining my skills. It wasn’t because I didn't know what I did, It was just because I didn't think those particular skills were valuable enough to sell. It seemed too easy to me.
“Why would someone pay me for something that is so easy to do?”
This is a major issue I see with a lot of people I talk to who want to start a business or even a side hustle to make a little extra money. People just don’t think they’re skills are valuable.
This is 100% wrong.
People are good at different things. Developers can code, designers design, marketers market, sellers sell, you get it. The point is, very seldom are people truly masters at all of these things, even if they think they are. These holes in other people’s skillset is where your skills, that you’ve thought were not valuable enough the whole time, will fit in and make you money.
If you have a really good understanding of website builders like SquareSpace, Wix, or WebFlow, you can literally charge thousands of dollars to build no-code websites for people.
If you are someone who has experience with productivity tools like Notion, ClickUp, or Monday; you can charge people a fee to come in and help them build out their digital workflows.
Social media savvy? You can easily help small business owners create content, posting schedules, and a better over all social media presence.
These are just a few things, but there is 100% knowledge that you have based on experience, hobbies, and practice that people will pay you for. I won’t pretend like it’s easy to build a business, but I can 100% guarantee you if you focus your efforts you can make thousands of extra dollars a year doing things you already do in your sleep.
Believe in yourself a little more.
Your knowledge and experience is worth much more than you think.
