I'm getting out of the restaurant business...

THE JEM DIGEST

So, I’m getting out of the restaurant biz. I know, I know, I just posted this long inspirational post about how we pushed through the ups and downs and helped increase the companies revenue, etc, ect.

All that is still true. The restaurant business just isn’t for me.

It is actually pretty cool that I got to have the experience growing a restaurant and learning all of the things I did with a brand that I remember fondly from childhood. Like I said before, the restaurant business is hard and I can’t say how much that isn’t an exaggeration. While we tried to figure out how we could make it work long term, the truth of the matter is I just don’t have the time to go through another year of “building”. I am at a weird stage in my life where I am still young, but I’m definitely too old to be taking risks where I don’t at least control my own destiny. I’m still planning on doing some things for the brand, but It will be under a different set of circumstances.

That being said, I have a lot of other cool stuff I’m working on along with trying to pick up a few consulting contracts. I’ve also really gotten into AI tools lately. Just really diving into all of the possibilities now that AI is getting really interesting. There are also a lot of other projects that I’ve been neglecting because of running the restaurants, but now that’s not the case anymore.

I actually feel pretty free. To be honest, I kind of forgot what it was like to be held down by a brick and mortar job. Covid really spoiled me in allowing me to work remotely. I’m actually really excited to be back.

This is going to be a short one. I’ve had a long day. A GOOD DAY, but a long one.

Looking forward to returning to your usually programming.
